Breeding Policies to a TopStock Vizsla Stud

TopStock Policies – Thank you for considering TopStock Vizslas.  We are eager to enhance the Vizsla breed and look for opportunities to achieve this through specialize breeding.

Owner of the Bitch

As owner of the Bitch, you and your female have the greatest responsibility.  We believe it is your responsibility to outline the breeding and determine when breeding is to take place and for how long.  As long as the scheduled outlined satisfies what we believe will be a successful outcome, the outline will be followed.  To assist in determining when breeding is to start, a progesterone test must be completed.  Unless the result of this test is significantly below 5.0, only one test will be required.

As customary, all expenses related to the breeding shall be paid by the owner of the female.  These expenses may include but not limited to the following, all veterinarian bills related to the female, tests, vaccines, Brucellosis test, and veterinary services for care of the female in the event such services are needed while the female is in the care of the owner of the Stud.  In the event the Stud is required to be transported to the location of the female, such costs shall be paid by the owner of the female.  Should the breeding include or solely be through artificial insemination (AI), the fees for the collection of the semen and the AI shall be paid by the owner of the female.

The breeding can be natural or by AI.  Should AI be requested, this can be achieved through collection and immediate placement in the female; by cold shipment and placement within the female within 24 hours; or by frozen semen.  When AI is involved, the collection of the semen shall be performed by a veterinarian and a veterinarian shall perform or oversee the completion of the AI.  In the event the female refuses/rejects a natural breeding, AI shall be offered as an option to complete the breeding.

TopStock Stud Services

As owner of the Stud, TopStock Vizslas will provide proof of good health including a recent Brucellosis test.  We agree to follow the breeding schedule outlined by the owner of the female provided such schedule in our opinion will have a successful outcome.  All decisions regarding the breeding shall be deferred to the owner of the female and followed provided the health of ether animal is not in question.

The fee for Stud service shall be paid half at the conclusion of the breeding and the balance paid the week following the delivery of the puppies.  In the event fewer than two live puppies are born or fail to live to day three, a rebreeding will be offered to the owner of the female.  In the event AI is the exclusive breeding method, a non-refundable fee shall be paid upon signing of the contract.  The balance of the Stud fee shall be paid provided two or more puppies are born and live to day three.  In the event two or more puppies are not born and live to day three, no additional Stud fee is due.  As the owner of the Stud dog, we reserve the right to have pick of the litter in place of a Stud fee.

Upon full payment of Stud service, TopStock Vizslas agree to sign the AKC registration papers.
